As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to make sure your home is ready for spring! The harsh temperatures and constant weather changes during the winter can take a toll on your home, making the change in seasons is a good time to check your home’s interior and exterior. Clean Your Gutters

 

If your gutters are full of debris, it’s important to clean them out regularly. Clogged gutters can cause excess water to build up, negatively effecting your home. To clean your gutters yourself, just get a ladder and some gloves and remove the leaves and other debris. After removing majority of the debris, use a hose to flush out the remaining dirt. This is also a great way look for potential leaks.

 

Clean the Exterior of your Home

 

It might seem weird to wash the exterior of your home, but doing so helps keep your home’s structure from weakening over time. To clean your home’s exterior, grab your pressure washer and start on a low pressure setting to ensure you don’t damage your home. Once you’ve found the perfect settings, clean using slow movements.

 

Clean and Repair Windows and Screen

 

Before you open your windows to let in the spring breeze, make sure you check them for any damage. When checking for damage, look to see if there are any warped screens or water damage around the window. If so, be sure to have your windows and screens replaced, or re-caulk if possible. After checking your screens and windows, give them a good cleaning using a window cleaning solution.

 

 Replace Your Filters & Clean Vents

 

Spring is a great time to replace all your filters and clean your vents. A good rule of thumb is to replace your filters every 6 months. Replace your air, water, and range hood filters.
